Gov. Zulum Alerts Maiduguri Residents to Two Suspected Suicide Bombers Ahead of Eid

Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has warned residents of Maiduguri to remain vigilant during today’s Eid prayers. He revealed intelligence reports suggesting two suspected suicide bombers may target the city. The governor said Boko Haram insurgents are under heavy military pressure but could stage attacks as a diversion. He expressed confidence that security agencies are ready and will prevent any breach. This statement follows Monday’s deadly blasts at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital gate, a city roundabout, and Monday Market. Over 20 people were killed and more than 100 injured. Governor Zulum praised federal support, including funding for clearance operations and the deployment of service chiefs to Maiduguri. He urged citizens to carry on with their daily activities and to report any suspicious movements immediately.
