The Oyo Student Kidnapping: Rescue or Ransom? Let’s Discuss
First, I want to thank God and all security agencies for bringing our kidnapped Oyo students and teachers home safely. Their efforts, from the presidency down to on-ground operatives, deserve praise. But did they truly storm the kidnappers’ hideout, or was ransom quietly paid? It’s hard to believe hardened criminals would let hostages go without a deal. No photos of the slain kidnappers, no clear parade of the arrested suspects — only claims of neutralization and eight arrests. Where were the children during the alleged gun battle? Common sense says kidnappers would use them as human shields, yet none were harmed. If ransom was paid, no one needs to admit it, and everyone walks away unharmed. Fellow Nigerians, until we see concrete evidence of a raid, it’s reasonable to suspect a ransom transaction saved the day. Share your thoughts.
