Mary Angel Afoma, a young lady with passion for music and baking embarks on a three day journey to break the Guinness world record for the longest baking by an individual. “I learnt baking professionally as a skill, and it has been the only thing sustaining me and it pays my bills both for my studies and my family. It is also through baking that am able to help my fellow students financially,” Mary A stated. “I sell cake everywhere in school and even in public transports, with that i was nicknamed Cake Girl,” she said. The current Guinnes World Record holder is Alan Fisher, an Irish chef who baked for 47 hours, 21 minutes and 21 seconds at his restaurant in Japan in September of last year. The event, tagged "Bake to Break" begins on Wednesday, 1st May, 2024 at Helena Hotels and Resort, along East-West Road, by University of Port Harcourt, Choba, Port Harcourt.
