Super Falcons Defender Osinachi Ohale Retires After 16 Years and Five WAFCON Titles
Veteran Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale has retired from international football after 16 years with Nigeria. The 34-year-old ends her national-team career with 86 caps, four FIFA Women’s World Cup appearances, seven WAFCON tournaments and five African titles. Ohale made her senior debut in 2010 and won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2024. Her memorable 2023 World Cup campaign included a winning header against Australia, for which she was named Player of the Match. She will continue her club career with Pachuca in Mexico. Teammates and the Confederation of African Football have paid tribute to her long service, leadership and contribution to the Super Falcons.
