Senator Buba’s Aide Resigns, Citing Breakdown of Trust and Respect
Abba Aliyu Tilde, a Senior Legislative Aide to Bauchi South Senator Shehu Buba Umar, has resigned with immediate effect. In a letter dated September 6, 2026, Tilde cited a breakdown in communication, trust and mutual respect. Tilde said he felt disrespected after the senator reportedly met with residents during a visit to his ward without informing him. He added that the incident was part of a wider pattern that made him feel his contributions were no longer valued. The resignation comes as renewed allegations linking Senator Buba to banditry and terrorism circulate. However, Tilde did not cite those allegations as a reason for leaving and did not accuse the senator of any criminal wrongdoing. He thanked the senator for the opportunity to serve and wished him success in his future endeavours.
