The Battle Against Deception: Standing Firm in God’s Truth
Deception can appear attractive, reasonable, spiritual or harmless while quietly leading believers away from God’s purpose. It may come through false teaching, misleading information, unhealthy relationships, empty promises, wrong counsel or personal desires. Jesus said that knowing the truth brings freedom. Believers are therefore called to know God’s Word, test every teaching and counsel, examine the fruit of decisions, and refuse to follow popular opinions blindly. Scripture urges us to prove all things and hold firmly to what is good. Just as someone who knows genuine currency can recognise a counterfeit note, a believer who studies and practises God’s Word is better able to identify error. Pray for discernment, remain humble and teachable, seek mature counsel, and keep Christ at the centre of every decision. Lord Jesus, protect me from falsehood, manipulation and spiritual confusion. Give me a deeper love for Your Word and the discernment to recognise deception before it harms my life. Amen.
