PRP Alleges Plot to Create Faction Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Peoples Redemption Party has alleged that former members and some serving officials are trying to divide the party and weaken its chances ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party’s national chairman, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, claimed that those involved planned to spend large sums of money to influence members, recruit unauthorised polling agents and form a faction. He said party officials found to be involved could face disciplinary action. The PRP did not name the individuals allegedly involved or provide evidence for the claims. It said it remains focused on building an opposition coalition to challenge the ruling party in 2027.
