HURIWA Urges FG to Resolve WINHOMES Dispute in Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road Project
The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria has called for swift government intervention in the dispute between WINHOMES Global Services and investors affected by the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road works. HURIWA says it has tracked the case for over two years and engaged relevant stakeholders, but the issues remain unresolved. The delay, it warns, could undermine public confidence and deter private investment in Nigerian infrastructure. Highlighting public comments by the Minister of Works on property demolitions, the group stressed that clear communication and strict adherence to due process are vital for maintaining trust in major projects. HURIWA urged the Federal Government and the Ministry of Works to publish detailed procedures, conduct a transparent review, and ensure a fair and timely settlement for all parties to bolster Nigeria’s investment climate.
