Osun NUJ Press Week Opens With Call for Accurate, Ethical Reporting
The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun State Council, has opened its 2026 Press Week in Osogbo with a call for journalists to uphold accuracy, fairness and professionalism. At the opening church service, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Special Adviser on Security Matters, Samuel Ojo, praised journalists for keeping the public informed. He urged media practitioners to verify facts, consult relevant sources and allow all parties to be heard before publishing reports. Ojo warned that inaccurate or biased reports can damage reputations, create tension and weaken public trust in the media. He also encouraged journalists to embrace training and technology while using their platforms to promote peace, accountability and development in Osun State.
