Wike Dismisses Claims That Peter Obi Won Rivers in 2023

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has rejected claims by Peter Obi’s supporters that the Labour Party candidate won Rivers State in the 2023 presidential election. Speaking during a television interview, Wike said the claim existed only on social media. He questioned why Obi’s supporters did not establish the alleged victory at the election petition tribunal. Wike also challenged them to produce official result sheets showing that Obi won the state. He argued that Rivers has 23 local government areas and that no one could determine the result from a single location in Port Harcourt.
