Should a Sole Provider Also Share Household Chores?
I believe couples can share household chores, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, I think the arrangement should reflect each partner’s contribution to the home. If I am solely responsible for rent, school fees, clothing, family support, outings and every other household expense, while my wife contributes nothing financially, I do not think it is fair to expect me to carry an equal share of all domestic work after a demanding day. Marriage is a partnership, not a burden placed entirely on one person. Couples should agree on responsibilities in a way that recognises both financial provision and unpaid domestic labour.
