Dolly Parton’s First Posthumous Song, “Bound to Ride,” Is Released
Dolly Parton’s first posthumous release, “Bound to Ride,” has arrived nearly two weeks after the country music legend’s death. The track was recorded in 2022 for a tribute album celebrating bluegrass pioneers The Stanley Brothers. The traditional song also features the First Ladies of Bluegrass, including Alison Brown, Becky Buller, Sierra Hull, Missy Raines and Molly Tuttle. Parton recorded her vocals separately during the COVID-19 period to protect her health. The release adds to Parton’s six-decade musical legacy, which includes classics such as “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You.” Her representatives said she died after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones.
