Israel DMW Praises Buhari’s Edo Election Record, Criticises Current Political Climate

Davido’s aide, Israel DMW, has paid tribute to former President Muhammadu Buhari while contrasting Buhari’s handling of the Edo governorship election with more recent developments in the state. In a social-media post, he said Buhari allowed Edo voters to freely choose their governor during the off-cycle election. He described later elections as marked by “impunity” and said they had brought the state public embarrassment. The post followed comments by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike about his role in helping APC candidate Monday Okpebholo win the 2024 Edo governorship election, despite Wike being a member of the PDP at the time.
