The Battle Against Ignorance: Why Believers Must Keep Learning
Ignorance can keep people trapped in avoidable mistakes, deception, and missed opportunities. Hosea 4:6 warns that people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, while Scripture calls believers to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Christ. Knowledge does not replace faith. It gives faith a sound foundation for wise action. Believers are encouraged to study God’s Word, ask questions, verify information, learn from wise mentors, accept correction, and apply what they learn. Like a farmer who cannot maximise fertile land without knowing when and how to plant, we may fail to use the gifts, opportunities, and resources God has placed in our hands if we remain uninformed. Stay teachable, pursue truth, and use knowledge wisely in your spiritual life, family, career, and relationships. Prayer: Lord Jesus, deliver me from ignorance, deception, and spiritual blindness. Give me a teachable heart, discernment to recognise truth, and wisdom to apply knowledge in a way that honours You. Amen.
