Atiku’s Aide Blames Tinubu’s Economic Policies as Uber Leaves Nigeria

Paul Ibe, media adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies following Uber’s reported exit from Nigeria after 12 years. In a post on X, Ibe said businesses are facing inflation, currency instability, rising operating costs, weaker consumer spending and policy uncertainty. He rejected the suggestion that Uber’s decision could simply be part of a review of its investment priorities. He said Nigeria must create policies that encourage companies to invest, remain in the country and create jobs. According to him, Uber’s exit should serve as a warning that the administration’s economic policies are not yet producing the investment-friendly environment Nigerians were promised.
