US Teacher Charged with Incest After Alleged Abuse of Adopted Sons
A Washington state teacher faces incest charges after her estranged husband alerted authorities to twisted text messages between her and one of her adopted teenage sons. Court documents say Amber Swain, 35, adopted one boy from her third-grade classroom in 2017. Investigators allege she began a sexual relationship with the 17-year-old in December and later admitted to involvement with his 18-year-old brother. In interviews, one victim described unwanted advances and intimate messages. Swain initially denied any sexual contact but later offered conflicting explanations. She now faces first- and second-degree incest charges and up to ten years in prison. Swain was placed on leave from Pend Oreille River School after her June 2 arrest. She pleaded not guilty at her June 8 arraignment, and her trial is set for October 6.
