US Trains Nigerian Troops in Bauchi on Drones, First Aid and Counterterrorism Skills
The United States military has trained Nigerian troops in Bauchi State on drone operations, battlefield first aid and other counterterrorism skills under the ongoing security partnership between both countries. According to US Africa Command, the training covered weapons handling, small-unit tactics, camouflage, water purification, explosive-threat response and the use of unmanned aircraft. About 10 Nigerian Air Force Special Forces personnel received practical drone instruction after classroom sessions. US officials said Nigerian personnel selected the areas most useful to their operations. The programme is expected to continue as both countries strengthen intelligence sharing and security cooperation, despite a reduction in the number of US troops deployed in Nigeria.
