‘Obsession’ Executive Producer Sues for Share of Profits After Reported $500m Box-Office Run

Leonora Ann Darby, an executive producer of the 2025 horror film “Obsession,” has sued Tea Shop Productions and its co-founders, James Harris and Mark Lane, alleging that she was denied her agreed share of the film’s profits. Darby claims she helped rescue the project during post-production after director Curry Barker allegedly lost control of the editing process. She also says she helped secure reshoots that improved the film and ensured it was ready for the Toronto International Film Festival. The lawsuit states that the film was made for about $750,000, sold to Focus Features for a reported $16.2 million after its festival screening, and later grossed more than $500 million. Darby is seeking unpaid bonuses, compensatory damages and one-third of the film’s net profits. The production company has not publicly responded to the claims.
