Duke Udi Backs 20-Team NNL Conferences, Targets Sunshine Stars’ NPFL Return

Sunshine Stars technical adviser Duke Udi has welcomed the proposed 20-team Northern and Southern Conference format for the 2026/27 Nigeria National League season. Udi said the format would create 38 match rounds per conference and make promotion more competitive, with two teams expected to move up from each conference if the proposal is approved. He also said Sunshine Stars are stepping up pre-season preparations and have the backing of the Ondo State Government and club management as they aim to return to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
