China Envoy Praises Enugu’s Investor-Friendly Policies, Direct Flight to China on Horizon
The Chinese Consul General in Nigeria has commended Governor Peter Mbah’s economic vision and described Enugu as a rising hub of vitality and opportunity. She highlighted the state’s focus on infrastructure, technology, and human capital development as key drivers for sustainable growth. The envoy noted that plans for a direct flight between Enugu and major Chinese cities are now within reach, thanks to ongoing reforms at Akanu Ibiam International Airport and the proposed cargo terminal. Discussions are also underway for sister-city partnerships and a dedicated Chinatown District to boost trade and cultural exchange. Governor Mbah reaffirmed Enugu’s readiness for international investors and airlines, unveiling plans for the New Enugu Smart City with world-class infrastructure. He emphasised the state’s commitment to ease of doing business and assured support for major Chinese firms seeking to establish operations in Enugu.
