Labour Party Spokesman Demands Peter Obi’s Prosecution Over ‘Assassination’ Claims
Labour Party’s National Publicity Secretary has urged authorities to charge Peter Obi for suggesting the President wanted to kill him. He argues that such statements risk inciting violence and undermining public trust in the presidency. Citing the Penal Code, the spokesman said no one is above the law. He called on Obi to apologise, pay a ₦25,000 fine and retract his remarks. Otherwise, he insisted Obi should face court and could face up to two years’ imprisonment if found guilty. He also accused Obi of playing the victim and manipulating public sentiment. He noted CCTV evidence contradicted Obi’s version, and urged him to focus on his 2027 presidential agenda instead of stoking division.
