Infantino Denies Claims UEFA Paid Former Employee Over Alleged Relationship

Infantino Denies Claims UEFA Paid Former Employee Over Alleged Relationship — 1 of 2
1 / 2

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has denied allegations that UEFA paid a six-figure settlement to a former female employee following an alleged relationship while he was the organisation’s general secretary. A British media report claimed the employee was promoted during the alleged relationship and later received a departure payment. UEFA confirmed that a payment and MBA tuition support were provided, saying they complied with staff regulations in force at the time. Infantino described the allegations as categorically untrue. FIFA said no complaint of inappropriate conduct had ever been raised against him and that employment-related payments were approved under the applicable rules. The claims come as Infantino faces criticism from UEFA and some national football associations over his reported proposal to sell World Cup stakes to private investors.
