Gunmen stormed Government Secondary School, Odo-Ekina in Dekina LGA of Kogi State around 5:25pm while students were writing the NECO exam. They abducted the school principal, an ad hoc NECO official and four students. Security forces, including police and other agencies, quickly launched a search-and-rescue operation. One of the students has been rescued. Efforts to free the remaining victims and apprehend the assailants are ongoing. The Commissioner of Police in Kogi, the Brigade Commander and the State Security Adviser visited the school for an on-the-spot assessment.
