British-Born Ex-Navy Sailor Charged in Random Shootings That Killed Two Women in Georgia

A 26-year-old British-born man, Olaolukitan Adon Abel, has been charged with murder after a series of apparently random attacks in Georgia. Authorities say Abel first shot Prianna Weathers, 31, outside a restaurant. He then opened fire on a 49-year-old homeless man sleeping outside a supermarket. Later, he allegedly stabbed and shot 40-year-old Lauren Bullis as she walked her dog. Investigators described the incidents as “acts of pure evil.” Reports indicate Abel grew up in a middle-class home in north London before moving to the US around 2019 and joining the Navy in 2020. He was discharged following an assault conviction and later pleaded guilty to multiple counts of sexual battery. Abel was arrested in Troup County and remains in custody facing two counts of murder, aggravated assault, and firearms offences.
