Anthony Joshua Says Doubts Over Tyson Fury Fight Have Fuelled His Determination
Anthony Joshua says he is drawing motivation from what he sees as doubts over his chances against Tyson Fury ahead of their December 11 heavyweight clash at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. The British-Nigerian boxer said he pushed for the bout to be held in the United Kingdom rather than the United States. He also pointed to differences in the timing of their enrolment in the VADA drug-testing programme, while stressing there is no allegation of wrongdoing against Fury. The rivalry has grown more personal after Fury shared an old video connected to Joshua’s speech at a George Floyd rally. Joshua said the clip lacked context and insisted he was speaking against Floyd’s killing, not trying to divide people. Joshua has reunited with trainer Ben Davison, who previously worked with Fury, as he prepares for what could be the biggest fight of his career.
