South Korean Running Influencer Dies After Collapsing Near Seoul Half-Marathon Finish
South Korean running influencer and KAIST graduate student Yoo Ji-won has died after collapsing about 500 metres from the finish line of the Seoul Race half-marathon on October 11. Organisers said the 25-year-old became unconscious at about the 20.6-kilometre mark, close to Jonggak subway station in central Seoul. Medical personnel performed CPR before she was taken to hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The official cause of death has not been confirmed. Race organisers said they would investigate the incident and take appropriate action. The half-marathon attracted about 12,000 runners.
