Yemen’s ‘Spider-Man’ Dies in Tragic Fall into Volcanic Crater
A stunt climber nicknamed the “Spider-Man of Yemen” lost his life after slipping into the Hardah Dam volcanic crater on June 12. Video footage released by the Civil Defense Authority shows 30-year-old Al-Qaqa Ibn Antar scaling the 120-meter-high crater walls without safety gear before losing his grip and falling. Rescue teams, including diving specialists, located his body about 30 meters below the sulfurous lake after a four-hour search in steep, rocky terrain. Authorities have urged all adventure sports enthusiasts to observe safety procedures and use proper protective equipment to prevent similar tragedies.
