Receiving Correction With Humility: A Path to Wisdom and Growth
One battle every believer must win is the battle against rejecting correction. Correction is not always an attack. It can reveal mistakes, help us change direction, and prevent harmful habits from taking root. Godly correction is different from condemnation. Condemnation seeks to tear down, while correction seeks restoration. Proverbs 15:32 reminds us that those who listen to reproof gain understanding. A teachable heart listens before responding, admits mistakes, accepts godly counsel, and makes necessary changes. Like a dashboard warning light, correction may be uncomfortable, but it can prevent greater damage when we respond wisely. Lord Jesus Christ, give me a humble and teachable heart. Help me receive godly correction, learn from my mistakes, and correct others with love, truth, and grace. Amen.
