Lionel Messi won the 48th trophy of his career after Inter Miami defeated Cruz Azul 2-0 to lift the 2026 Campeones Cup. Messi opened the scoring with a 24th-minute header from Luis Suárez’s assist. The goal was his 100th for Inter Miami, achieved a little over three years after joining the MLS club. He later set up Casemiro for Miami’s second goal. The victory gives Inter Miami a trophy in four straight seasons since Messi arrived in 2023.
