Mbappé Reveals His Mother Wanted Him to Join Liverpool in 2017

Kylian Mbappé has revealed that his mother, Fayza Lamari, wanted him to join Liverpool when he was leaving AS Monaco in 2017. Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp reportedly met Mbappé and his family during talks, as the young forward also attracted interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Lamari visited Anfield, met club officials and was impressed by the atmosphere around the club. Mbappé said he respected Klopp and understood why his mother preferred Liverpool, but chose PSG because he wanted to play in his home city before leaving France. He went on to become one of the world’s leading players in Paris before later joining Real Madrid.
