Retired Colonel Questions Lack of Confrontation in Oriire School Rescue
Retired Colonel Leo Abara has criticised the handling of the recent rescue of schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State. Speaking in a TV interview, he expressed disappointment that it took more than 50 days for the government to free the victims. He also noted that he saw no evidence of any kidnappers being killed or captured during the operation. Col Abara suggested the absence of any visible clash between security forces and the abductors could mean a ransom was paid. "We did not see any kidnapper captured or dead, so there was no confrontation," he said, urging clarity on the conditions of the release.
