Man Charged After Paying N900,000 to Kidnap Aunt Who Raised Him
A 31-year-old Delta State man has been arrested for allegedly hiring kidnappers to abduct the aunt who raised him from age five. He reportedly paid N200,000 as an initial deposit and later sent N700,000 to complete the plot. Police say the suspect, Chukwuemeka Destiny, returned to his aunt’s home with the plan, only to be betrayed by the supposed kidnappers who handed him over to officers. He confessed during interrogation, blaming his actions on “the devil’s work.” The aunt expressed disbelief and pleaded for justice to take its full course. Destiny remains in custody with the Delta State Police Command’s Raiders squad as investigations continue.
