Rio Ferdinand Says Man United Should Have Signed Ezri Konsa

Rio Ferdinand has criticised Manchester United for not competing with Arsenal to sign defender Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa for a reported £51 million. United had been linked with the 28-year-old as they looked to strengthen their defence, but Arsenal secured his signature in August, according to the report. Speaking on his YouTube channel after United conceded 15 goals in nine matches, Ferdinand said Konsa would have suited the club. He praised the defender’s efficiency and versatility, noting his performances at both right-back and centre-back. Ferdinand added that Konsa’s strong start at Arsenal has given manager Mikel Arteta difficult selection decisions as William Saliba returns to the side.
