Army, DSS and Volunteers Kill Scores of Bandits in Shiroro LGA

Troops of the Nigerian Army, DSS operatives and local volunteer forces on Tuesday foiled a large-scale attack by over 300 armed bandits on Bagna and Erena communities in Shiroro LGA of Niger State. Acting on credible advance intelligence, the joint forces ambushed the attackers at the Makuba and Allawa axis, killing scores and scattering the rest. Residents praised the security agencies and volunteers for their swift action. They credited the joint operation with preventing a major disaster and thanked the operatives for ensuring their safety. Sources noted that growing collaboration between official security agencies and local volunteer groups has strengthened the first line of defence in several communities across the country.
