ValueJet Takes Delivery of First Boeing 737NG, Plans West African Expansion
ValueJet has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737NG aircraft, registered as 5N-CFZ, as the Nigerian carrier begins a planned fleet expansion. Two more Boeing 737NG aircraft are expected to join the airline in the coming months. The larger aircraft will give ValueJet more passenger seats, cargo capacity and range than the CRJ regional jets it has operated since launching commercial flights in 2022. It is expected to strengthen capacity on busy Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt routes. ValueJet says the aircraft will enter commercial service in September. The expansion is also intended to support planned routes to Libreville, Abidjan and other destinations in West and Central Africa, alongside continued investment in staff and technical operations.
