A major wave of resignations is set to hit President Tinubu’s cabinet as the 2027 election cycle heats up. Political appointees have been asked to step down by March 31, including Nyesom Wike, Femi Gbajabiamila and several other high-profile ministers. Among those eyeing new political roles are Adebayo Adelabu (Power), who plans to contest the Oyo governorship, and Hannatu Musawa (Art, Culture and Creative Economy), who is linked to a Katsina bid. Others like Dave Umahi (Works) are reportedly preparing for Senate or other positions under the strict timelines of the Electoral Act. Sources say silent exits may follow at agencies such as the NDDC, NPA and NIMASA. An aide, however, insists at least one minister remains fully committed to their current duties.
