Anambra Assembly Commends ANSIEC Over August 29 Local Government Elections
The Anambra State House of Assembly has commended the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) for the conduct of the August 29 local government elections across the state. The resolution followed a motion moved by Idemili South lawmaker Ebuka Igwe and 23 other members during plenary in Awka. The lawmakers said the exercise covered all 21 local government areas and 326 electoral wards. They described the poll as credible and transparent, and praised ANSIEC Chairman Genevieve Osakwe, security agencies and residents for their roles. The Assembly also congratulated the elected local government chairmen and ward councillors, urging them to fulfil their campaign promises.
