Kwara NSCDC Arrests Man Over Alleged Trafficking of 17-Year-Old Girl to Mali
The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested a 22-year-old man over the alleged trafficking of a 17-year-old girl from Amoyo to Mali. Officials said the girl’s mother reported the case at the NSCDC office in Amoyo on October 9. The matter was later transferred to the command headquarters in Ilorin for investigation. Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect allegedly promised the teenager a job in Senegal, took her to Lagos and handed her to an unidentified person at Mile 2 for onward travel. He reportedly told investigators that she arrived in Mali on October 12 after an agent allegedly changed the planned destination. The NSCDC said it is working to establish the full circumstances of the case and secure the girl's safe return to Nigeria.
