Seeking Legal Help After Business Dispute Leads to Detention and EFCC Investigation
I need guidance from an experienced lawyer or a credible human-rights organisation. A business arrangement involving capital, financial transactions and losses led to a dispute that escalated to Zone 2 Police Command in Lagos. I was detained for about three days, and an affidavit or undertaking was made while my property documents were collected in connection with the matter. The case later reached the EFCC. My sister was also arrested in connection with the investigation because her bank account was involved in some of the transactions. I have financial records, transaction histories and exported WhatsApp conversations that I believe could help explain the full history of the business arrangement and its losses. I am looking for legal advice about my detention and the affidavit or undertaking, guidance on the EFCC investigation and my sister’s situation, and a referral to a trustworthy human-rights or legal-support organisation. I am not trying to avoid a lawful investigation; I want the evidence examined and the matter handled fairly. I can provide relevant documents privately to a credible lawyer or organisation. Any guidance from people familiar with similar cases would be appreciated.
