Troops Rescue 10 Prospective Corps Members, Neutralise 16 Terrorists in Nationwide Operations
The Nigerian Army says troops rescued 10 prospective NYSC members who were abducted from two commercial buses along the Onitsha-Owerri Road in Mbaise, Imo State. Security agencies are continuing efforts to locate other victims linked to the incident. In Adamawa, troops reportedly repelled coordinated attacks on military positions in Gombi and Hong LGAs. The Army said 16 terrorists were neutralised during follow-up strikes, while rifles, ammunition and other weapons were recovered. The operational update also reported an attack in Taraba, where one civilian was killed and three people were abducted. Troops recovered rustled cattle, while rescue efforts and operations against the attackers continue in several locations.
