Amichi Association Backs Peaceful, Inclusive Resolution of Leadership Dispute

Amichi Association Backs Peaceful, Inclusive Resolution of Leadership Dispute

The Amichi Community Association has called for peace and restraint as the leadership dispute in Amichi, Nnewi South LGA of Anambra State, continues before the court. The association said it supports maintaining leadership continuity pending the determination of the substantive case, citing the need to avoid a vacuum in community affairs. It urged all parties to respect the court process and avoid threats, intimidation, property destruction or confrontational actions. On the proposed caretaker arrangement, the group said any committee set up by the appropriate authorities should be fair, credible and inclusive of relevant community interests. It also appealed to youths, traditional institutions, women and other stakeholders to support dialogue and reconciliation.
