OK Movement Denies Leadership Shake-Up, Says Its X Account Was Hijacked

OK Movement Denies Leadership Shake-Up, Says Its X Account Was Hijacked — 1 of 8
1 / 8

A leadership dispute has emerged within the OK Movement, a political platform linked to supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso. Reports circulated on the movement’s X account announcing the appointment of High Chief Peter Ameh as director-general, Muhammad Hamisu as national secretary and Sam Amadi as head of its advisory council. The posts also suggested that Dr John Ughulu had been removed. However, convener Ladipo Johnson rejected the announcements. He said the movement’s X account was taken over by an administrator who used it to issue unauthorised statements. According to him, Ughulu remains the director-general and no leadership change has been approved. Similar conflicting claims have also surfaced around the Obidient Movement, including reports concerning the position of its national coordinator, Dr Yunusa Tanko.

The leadership dispute and the hijack claim make clear communication especially important for a platform linked to Obi and Kwankwaso supporters.

Saying the account was hijacked may explain the announcements, but it does not by itself settle the underlying leadership questions.

The movement should publish a clear statement through verified channels, naming its current officials and explaining how future updates will be confirmed.
