Seven Killed, Two Injured in Night Crash on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Seven people died and two others were injured in a three-vehicle crash near Kara on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the early hours of Monday. The crash, which occurred around 12:03 a.m., involved a HOWO CNG truck, a MACK trailer and a Mitsubishi Canter. The Federal Road Safety Corps said all nine people involved were male. FRSC officials from the Ibafo Outpost arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the distress call. Preliminary findings linked the fatal crash to speed violation, while investigations continue. The deceased were evacuated by the Ogun State Ambulance Service, and the injured victims were taken to hospital. The FRSC has urged motorists, especially articulated-vehicle drivers, to avoid excessive speed, keep safe distances and remain alert when driving at night.
