Delta Police Arraign Brothel Owner and 29 Suspects After Statewide Raid
The Delta State Police Command has arraigned Prince Chizoba Ojokwu, a 63-year-old proprietor of Prince Tarvan 50 Brothel in Asaba, and 29 other suspects before the Asaba Magistrate’s Court. They face charges of permitting the premises to be used as a brothel and procuring women and girls for prostitution under the Delta State Criminal Code. The arraignments follow an intelligence-led operation carried out on Saturday, 4 July 2026. The coordinated raids targeted brothels, illicit drug dens and other criminal hideouts across Asaba and neighbouring communities. A total of 202 individuals were arrested during the sweep led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations. After preliminary screenings, 172 suspects were released unconditionally. Ojokwu and 29 others were charged with offences including conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace and possession of illicit drugs. The Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to thorough investigations and prosecution. He warned operators of unlawful establishments to desist from activities that threaten public safety.
