Five Flamingos Players Win Player of the Match Awards at U-17 World Cup

Five different Nigerian players have earned Player of the Match awards during the Flamingos’ six matches at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. It is the first time five Nigerians have received the honour at a single edition of a FIFA tournament. The award winners are Oluwakemi Adegbuyi against Puerto Rico, Kanyinsola Yusuf against Korea DPR, Oluebube Umejiaku against Mexico, Favour Nkwocha against Venezuela and Awawu Bashiru against Brazil. It is a notable achievement for Nigeria’s women’s youth football team.
