Giving to God: A Lesson From Solomon’s Sacrifice

A member of a Christian fellowship once offered to fund every evangelistic programme in his chapter for a year. After sharing testimonies of how God had blessed him, other members declined his offer to do the same the following year because they also wanted to experience the joy of giving. Scripture recounts how Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings to God and asked for wisdom. God granted him wisdom and added riches, wealth and honour. The boy who gave his five loaves and two fish also saw his small meal become enough to feed a multitude. Giving to God is presented as an act of faith, not a loss. Believers are encouraged to give willingly, trusting that God rewards those who diligently seek Him and can do far beyond what they ask or imagine.
