Anambra Welcomes Migrants but Will Not Tolerate Crime, Mefor Says
The Anambra State Government says it welcomes Nigerians from every state but will not tolerate criminal activity. Information Commissioner Law Mefor stated this in Awka during the seventh anniversary of the Zaram Life Foundation. He said migration is a reality for Anambra people too, with many residents living and working outside the state. Mefor described Anambra as a major destination for people seeking opportunities in the South-East. He said the state’s employment, security and education policies are designed to be inclusive, including access to free education for children from neighbouring border communities. He added that the government does not profile crime suspects by their state of origin, but urged community leaders to caution residents against criminal conduct.
