Omri Casspi Biography: NBA Career, Personal Life and Venture Capital
Omri Casspi is a retired Israeli basketball player best known as the first Israeli to play in an NBA game. Born on June 22, 1988, he was selected 23rd overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2009 NBA Draft and played mainly as a small forward and power forward. During his NBA career, Casspi represented the Sacramento Kings, Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies. He later returned to Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he finished his playing career in 2021. Casspi also represented Israel internationally and captained the national team at EuroBasket 2015. After retirement, he moved into technology investing and launched the Sheva venture capital fund. He is married with children and maintains personal and business ties between Israel and the United States.
