ITF Targets 200,000 Artisans for Skill Training in 2026
The Industrial Training Fund says it plans to train an additional 200,000 artisans in 2026 through its Skill-Up Artisans programme. The Fund says the scheme is intended to improve certification, professional standards and access to jobs or business opportunities for artisans. According to the ITF, hundreds of thousands of artisans have been trained in the programme’s first three phases, while more than 7,000 have taken international certification examinations. It also said it had assessed 1,308 training centres nationwide and approved 776 for vocational and technical training. The Fund said it has introduced exit pathways in talent export, industry placement and business incubation. It also cited partnerships with international certification and skills-development bodies, as well as Nigeria’s admission into WorldSkills International.
