Recruiters, Please Be Realistic: ₦50,000 Cannot Cover Five Job Roles
A recruiter recently asked me to advertise a vacancy for a graduate with two to three years of experience. The proposed salary was ₦50,000–₦60,000 per month. That amount may not even cover transport, food and basic responsibilities, yet many job adverts demand a hardworking candidate who can work under pressure, communicate excellently and go the extra mile. Employers should match their expectations with what they can pay. You cannot ask one person to be an accountant, receptionist, social media manager, cleaner and customer-service representative for ₦50,000 monthly. If a business has a limited budget, the role and requirements should be realistic too. Recruiters and employers, what do you think?
